Time in Texas

June 10-17

An eventful week in Texas.

                                                 The well in the Alamo

The main purpose of our time in Texas was to attend a 3-day orientation for Commission to Every Nation (CTEN).  They are a servant organization that provides administrative support for missionaries.

We drove from Nebraska to Texas in a fully loaded SUV. Our car was full of clothes, toys, musical instruments, books and miscellaneous personal items. Why? Because we were going to drive into Mexico after the orientation.

We enjoyed the CTEN orientation. It was a great opportunity to meet the staff, pastoral care couples and other missionaries. The sessions on serving in a foreign country were very informative.

We are thankful that Bryan’s parents made a special trip in their car from Nebraska to Texas just to watch our kids while we were at the orientation. Our children had a lot of fun spending time with their grandparents at kid-friendly attractions in both Boerne and in San Antonio. It was great that Bryan’s parents and our kids could come on the last day for the closing ceremony of the CTEN orientation.

We are glad that we had the opportunity to visit friends and relatives during our time in Texas. Thanks to everyone in Texas that spent time with us, prayed for us, helped us and provided us meals.
