Birthday tacos, i.e. Taco Tuesday

My family and I took "Eddie"  out to eat to tacos to celebrate his birthday. 

Brenda and I and some other volunteers at the orphanage are part of a birthday group. We will invite kids out to eat on their birthdays. The volunteers pay for it themselves. 

The kids really like it. Most of the time, its the only special thing that they get to do for their birthdays.  Since they usually don't receive birthday cards or gifts for their special day,  eating out means a lot to them. Especially when it means a chance to spend some time outside of the orphanage.

Eddie enjoyed the dinner and spending time with us.

Brenda and I see this as opportunity to be more involved in the kids lives and to show them that we care about them. 

                                                 Naturally we ate tacos since it was a Tuesday.
