Our time in the U.S.

Greetings,

We were in the U.S. from April 11 to May 8 to get new passports and permits. Below is a summary of our time there.

·         Housing
o   We stayed most of the time at a friend’s house in Mission, Texas.
o   We were grateful for the comfort of air conditioning to beat the high heat and humidity.

First time Alex helped with lawn mowing
·
      Passports
o   The passport application process for Ariadne and Brianna was delayed a few days.
§  Due to failing to bring the birth certificates with us on our trip, we had to request a copy to be mailed to us from the Records office in Lincoln, Nebraska.
o   The passports arrived a week earlier than expected.

·         Bryan attended his grandmother’s funeral
o   While waiting for the passports to arrive, Bryan’s grandmother passed away on April 28.
§  Despite being 99-years-old, her death came as a surprise.
We are grateful to everyone who expressed their sympathy.

o   Bryan bought a round-trip flight to Omaha to attend the funeral in Lincoln, NE.
§  There was enough donated money to cover this unexpected cost! Praise God!

o   One of Bryan’s friends loaned him the use of his car to get from the Omaha airport to Lincoln.

·
  Hospitality from friends.
o   We are very appreciative of the visits we received and the food that was provided to us.

·         No sickness!
o   Unlike our last return visit to the USA, none of us got sick.

·         Church visits
o   We visited the same church in McAllen, TX where Bryan had spoke at last year.
§  It was great to reconnect with the church members there.
o   We spoke at a Spanish-speaking church in Edinburg, TX.
o   While in Lincoln, NE, Bryan provided an update at our home church.

·         Flat tire
o   One of our brand new car tires got punctured by a nail.
o   We were glad that the tire only needed a patch.

·         Permits
o   As mentioned in the previous message, Bryan got a new visa permit and we got a new car permit without any problems.

Again we are grateful to everyone that supported us in our time back in the U.S. Through many of you, God provided for our needs, including unexpected ones.

Your giving allows us to continue in our ministry with victims of abuse and abandonment.

Your help meant a lot to us. We won’t forget it.

Sincerely,

Bryan and Brenda Ottoson
