Ministry update

June 15, 2019

Shortly after returning from Texas last month, we got back into our normal routine.

Our kids have resumed their homeschooling.

Ariadne and Alex are continuing their music lessons. They will have a recital next week. Brenda also takes Marta, one of the girls from Pan de Vida, with our kids to music school. Marta got a scholarship from the school for free violin lessons.

I enjoy being back in the school. As part of the kids English instruction, they are learning Bible verses and songs in English. I use verses and songs from the church service to help reinforce what they experienced the previous Sunday. For example, they have read the Beatitudes from Matthew 5, the verses Colossians 3:23 and 1 Corinthians 10:12-13 and sang the songs There is Power in the Blood and How Great is Our God.

A note from one of my English students

The school semester ends July 12. All the teachers and I are working hard to keep the students motivated and engaged in their learning in order to finish strong.

Kara, a volunteer teacher returned back to Canada last week. But within a few days, Jessie and her family came from Kansas to help out at Pan de Vida for almost two months. She is taking over a few of Kara's classes and then will be taking over some of Mackenzie's classes. Mackenzie, another volunteer from Canda will be returning next week.

I am meeting with 2 boys,  Rodrigo and Ivan, outside of school to help them with their English. They will be leaving later this summer to serve at a camp in Canada.

preparing for their Canada trip
Also, I am meeting the junior high age boys for prayer time in the evening once every 2 weeks.

I had the opportunity to share with the boys how through our supporters and prayer, God provided for all our needs related to our trip to Texas.

When I was back in Texas, I bought some extra strength tire tubes for my bike. So far so good! I am able to  bike to the school and back home without any punctures!

I bought this bike when I first lived in Mexico - 15 years ago! Still going strong.
