Alex recovery update as of April 18
Post-surgery follow up
Alex
had a follow up appointment with his surgeon last Thursday.
He was impressed with Alex’s recovery.
Alex can get up and out of bed without assistance. He has more energy and every day his appetite is getting closer to normal. Alex no longer has any dietary restrictions. He still has to wear a bandage around his abdomen. Alex can’t participate in strenuous physical activity for a while.

Alex has been reading a lot during his recovery.
He had all 15 stitches removed. It was
painful for him, but he endured it bravely.
The doctor showed us a photo of the appendix – it actually had burst, so we made it to the hospital at the right time. Originally, we had understood that it hadn’t gotten to that point. I hate to think what would have happened if we had waited longer to take him to the emergency room.

Alex has another follow-up appointment in 3 weeks.
Fundraising
update
We have reached our goal!
All of Alex’s medical expenses have been covered by generous donations from all over North America.
People from Canada, United States and Mexico
all chipped in. Praise God!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping us! And thank you for all the prayers and concerns. It has
been such a blessing to us. It was amazing to
get the money in less than 2 weeks, especially
during an economic downturn and uncertainty.
Thank you for our patience in receiving updates from
us. We have had our hands full with the
care of Alex, attending to the needs of James (4 months old) the
parenting of Ariadne and Brianna and educating our
kids at home.
