Thanksgiving Day

Thursday, November 22, 2018

Even though Mexico doesn't have any equivalent of a Thanksgiving Day, my family and I made the effort to celebrate the day.

We were blessed with the presence of friends and family.

We invited Ivan and Citlali, a brother and sister living at Pan de Vida orphanage, to be part of our Thanksgiving Day. They got to experience the American tradition  and they enjoyed being part of our family for a couple of hours. Ivan and Citlali were grateful to get away from the orphanage and hang out with us.

Also, we had my sister Ginger and her family join us. A family friend and Brenda's mom Lupita were also with us.

Brenda and Ginger cooked some great traditional dishes.

Ivan and I watched a part of the Bears and Lions football game on TV.  Unfortunately, that was the only game televised on free local TV.

All the kids and I played card games such as Uno, Sorry, and Memory. Also, the kids watched some cartoons on YouTube related to Thanksgiving.
